Consumers for Health Choice
Several official bodies have and are attempting to restrict and/or prevent us from having access to various complementary health products such as vitamin supplements, herbal remedies and flower essences. Visit this site to learn more.

Vitamins for all is another quality site to visit concerning these issues.

Sites for professionals

The British Medical Acupuncture Society. A nationwide group of family doctors and hospital specialists who practise acupuncture alongside more conventional techniques. The BMAS believes that acupuncture has an important role to play in health care today.

Training

An attractive, well designed and informative site from The Lakeland College of Homœopathy.

Therapies

Medical and Chinese Herbalist Lorraine Hodgkinson MNIMH MRCHM Chinese and Western herbs supplier. Online shopping. Information on herbal medicine.

The Complete Guide to the Alexander Technique. Probably the most informative site concerning this subject on the entire WWW. Not the most attractive site, but content is king and this site is overflowing in that regard.

Products

A new business, recently launched, e-teas offer a huge range of mail-order tea. They have sections such as 'Mood teas', 'Medicinal teas' and 'Organic teas' with tea for waking you up, slowing you down, speeding you up and even turning you on!
Their prices seem reasonable, so I encourage you to support a new Cumbrian business and go buy some tea to suit your mood.

Research

The Kendal project, based at Lancaster University, is a two year research project exploring religion, spirituality and complementary health practices in Kendal. Previous studies have tended to use large scale surveys. By looking in detail at a particular locality - using interviews, participant observation, questionnaires, head counts and other methods - the Kendal Project research team is building up a picture that gives clues about wider social trends in religion, spirituality and health.
